How to spot the most annoying footballers

It’s tough to spot a player when they’re all dressed up in a different shirt, but when they do wear the same shirt, it can be tricky to know if they’re really the same player.
That’s exactly what a team of psychologists at the University of California, Los Angeles have done.
They put their subjects through an elaborate game in which they must identify and identify with the players they’re watching.
Each of the 15 players had to wear the shirt and be in the same position while watching the video.
The players were given a series of tasks, like picking a team, marking a goal, or taking a shot.
The researchers then asked the subjects to guess whether the players were wearing a specific shirt.
They found that players wearing the same football shirt were rated the same as those wearing a different one.
That said, it didn’t help the researchers predict the players’ personalities.
They did, however, find that the players who wore the shirt had lower self-esteem than those who didn’t.
“We found that people who were judged to be in a certain way were more self-critical than those that weren’t,” said co-author Dr. Joanna Raskin, a psychologist at UCLAS.
She added that the research “could lead to an interesting new way to assess people’s personalities, which is a valuable tool for identifying people with mental health problems.”
The research was published in Psychological Science.
