‘Failed to deliver’ Irish mail – DPD: ‘We are not aware of any problems with delivery’
- by admin
On Monday, a spokeswoman for DPD said that the company is “not aware of issues with delivery” at the post office in Dublin.
However, the spokeswoman said that she was “looking into the matter”.
The spokesperson added that the post Office had not yet received any complaints about the delivery of the DVDs.
She said that a “procedure was in place to ensure that mail from overseas received through the DPD service”.
A spokesperson for the Department of Health said that no complaints had been received.
DPD is one of the major providers of digital mail services to the UK.
In the US, it has a reputation for being “a service that’s reliable, easy to use, and not a lot of hassle”.
DPD has previously been fined $8m for breaching a US law banning spam.
However the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) has said that DPD “did not breach the law” and “we continue to work with DPD on this matter”.
In response to queries from The Irish Examiner, a spokesperson for BIS said that it was not commenting on the matter at this time.
The spokesperson said that, due to the “complexity of the situation”, “we would be unable to provide a statement at this stage”.
